The GKTECH Grip S-chassis front drop knuckles have been developed with the learnings from our previous 2 versions of knuckles (of which over 400 sets have been sold) and we now present a lightweight, sheet metal design after hundreds of hours of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to improve the strength of the product but also keep the weight down.
With OEMackermanand steering arm length these are perfect for grip racers that aren't interested in an increase in steering angle that drifters require but with the benefit of an improvement in both roll center and bump steer correction.
- Ball joint height is lowered 50mm's for roll center and the steering mount lowered 64mm's for bump steer correction
- Lightweight (S13 version is 3.1kg and S14/S15 is 3.15kg)
- S13 and S14/S15 specific versions (this listing is for the S13/180sx version)
- Provision for ABS sensor
NOTE: Due to the 64mm of bump steer correction some tie rods may interfere with the inside of your rim. This is entirely dependent on both the inside diameter of the rim and the length/type of tie rod that you are running however as a general rule a 17" rim or larger will be required.
FAQs
What's so good about these knuckles?A lot of people think that the best thing about knuckles (aka uprights) is getting more steering angle to drift however the main advantage of installing knuckles is the roll center correction and bump steer correction. Extremely lowered vehicles typically handle poorly, with drop knuckles like these installed the handling will improve dramatically as your lower control arm and castor (aka tension) rods are sitting near horizontally which brings them back to where they were before the car was lowered = good.
How do these differ to the drift orientated knuckles?
The grip knuckles are designed specifically for people not looking for an increase in steering lock, rather someone looking for both roll center and bump steer correction.
How hard are these to fit?
They are quite easy to install but mechanical knowledge is certainly required.Remove your standard knuckles and the knuckles will bolt straight in.
Do you make knuckles for other cars?
We make knuckles for S and R chassisNissans, we don't make them for any other cars.
Do I need to do any other modifications to get the most from these knuckles?
Rose jointed LCA's and caster rods are certainly advantageous but they are not 100% required. These knuckles will work with your OEM LCA's and caster rods.
